The Revolution
by Sdonja Salley
I am a lighthouse
poised on an ancient beach
The
ocean breeze
tickling my nose
The
fine grains stimulating
my soul with each step.
I can feel the heart-
beat of Mother Earth
Dancing through the ancient
chambers of my womb.
Pregnant with ideas, colors,
shapes, sizes and dreams
Vast as the ocean
which stands now before me.
Seemingly so still
Full of so much power, grace
life and wisdom.
Infinite like the neural pathways
touching so many different
bodies, lives, and faces.
My blood flowing like the waves
crashing onto an empty beach
into an empty chamber
The sands upon which I once
stood now a sheer wall of glass
I can see you down there in your
Glorious splendor
My lights beaming down on you
Your moisture evaporating to kiss
my weather hardened cheek.
